![]() Nhill emergency services were called to a single vehicle accident involving a B Double truck thismorning. Police, fire, ambulance and SES crews attended the 5.45am callout in the Grahams Reserve area, where the driver was trapped in his vehicle. "At this stage it seems that fatigue may have been a factor," Nhill Police Senior Constable Les Newton said, "the driver has veered across to the wrong side of the road, tipping the truck onto its side in the table drain. "He was trapped for just over two hours, with the SES volunteers freeing him around 8am," SC Newton said. One lane of the highway was closed to allow the rescue, followed by the retrieval of the load, and then the truck. The driver was heading to Adelaide, taking frozen food items to a supermarket. "The trucks freezer stopped, so all food will be disposed of at Horsham landfill," SC Newton said. The B Double driver sustained a broken right leg. Source of this article :: Bronwyn Hastings |
