![]() The Wimmera Mallee Regional Tourism Association (WMRTA) has created a Facebook page to attract the attention of a tech savvy, information media - user audience. The page features iconic photos of the Wimmera Mallee and encourages potential visitors to sample some of Victoria's Wild West. The WMRTA is a collaboration of the Shires of Buloke, Hindmarsh, West Wimmera and Yarriambiack, who are promoting the Wimmera Mallee region as a united group. WMRTA Chair and Hindmarsh Shire Councillor, Wayne Lovett said the Facebook page has provided the association with an opportunity to showcase the region to a wide audience with unlimited possibility. "We are now asking our Facebook community to 'Post' the Wimmera Mallee Tourism link, 'Share' photos and encourage others to 'Like the page to assist us in engaging as many people as possible." Owners of QR Code scanning capable mobile phones and other portable media devices equipped with the technology can now take advantage of codes developed for the Wimmera Mallee Tourism Facebook page and website. This is a new marketing tool employed by the association for cross-platform promotion. Wayne said "The association will continue to develop marketing tools and collateral that reaches potential consumers in new and exciting ways." QR codes, as seen below, are a barcode which when scanned will take the consumer directly to the relevant website or programmed information. ![]() Source of this article :: Wimmera Mallee Tourism Association |
