The Wimmera Health Care Group Foundation has installed a FOUNDATION500 Donor Honour Board at the Dimboola Hospital.

The honour board, which is identical to the one at the Horsham campus, has been installed in the entrance to the reception area.

Wimmera Health Care Group Foundation Chairman Don Johns said, "having an identical honour board at the Dimboola Hospital acknowledges the commitment and contribution of our donors across the wider Wimmera community."

"The WHCG Foundation recently committed to the purchase of a new patient trolley and a mobile defibrillator for Dimboola. The defibrillator will be available to Dimboola community groups for their events but will remain the property of the Dimboola Hospital," he said.

The WHCG Foundation is a public charitable fund, established in 1990. The Foundation invests all donations and bequests and uses the interest to fund special projects within the WHCG campuses that will directly benefit people of the Wimmera, guaranteeing the highest quality health care.

In recent years, the Foundation has contributed towards the Paediatric Mobility Garden, Rotary House, Kurrajong Lodge and more recently funded 31 wall desks throughout the Oxley and Yandilla wards at the Horsham campus. The Foundation has also committed $30,000 toward the construction of an adult mobility garden, also at the Horsham campus.

The WHCG Foundation has raised over half a million dollars in capital in its first 20 years and is now nearing its new target of $1 million by end of 2014. The Foundations charter is to raise funds for WHCG projects which fall outside of regular hospital funding provisions.

This target has been substantially supported by the Friends of the Foundation with fundraising events such as the MasterCook series, Sydney Loooong Lunch at Peter Doyle@The Quay, The Great Wimmera Duck Race, Foundation Football Fundraising Fortnight and cooking demonstrations by Amina Elshafei, Masterchef finalist, to name just a few.

The WHCG Foundation welcomes new Foundation500 donors and thanks existing donors for their valued and continued support.
