Dimboola Memorial Secondary College will receive a combined $23,590 from the Coalition Government to put towards energy costs and maintenance.

DMSC is one of 200 Victorian schools to receive $10,000 to help save costs through energy efficiency measures, along with schools at Rainbow, Laharum, Warracknabeal, Rupanyup and Kaniva.

Nationals' candidate for Lowan Emma Kealy said schools can choose to install sustainable items such as solar panels, water tanks, veggie patches, energy-efficient light bulbs and appliances, and door and window draught seals.

"Through this program our schools in western Victoria are reducing costs and teaching our students about sustainability in a practical way," Ms Kealy said.

Minister for Environment and Climate Change Ryan Smith said there are now more than 1,200 schools participating in the ResourceSmart program.

"Victorian schools participating in the program are cutting their costs by a total of $1.3 million each year," Mr Smith said.

DMSC has also been given $13,590 for maintenance of Block N (pictured) as part of a maintenance allowance of $363,822 for five schools across Western Victoria.

Baimbridge College, Hamilton will receive $134,322 towards the refurbishment of the schools library and a relocatable; $5,000 for Horsham College towards the upgrade of the school's site infrastructure including playing fields, drainage, pathways and fencing; $17,117 Jeparit Primary School towards the refurbishment of one of the relocatable buildings at the school; and $193,799 Rainbow Secondary College towards repair of Block D.
