After a two-year break Mylane Food Services has reopened as a stationary business in Dimboolas High Street.

The formerly-mobile business reopened on Thursday with Chris and Mylane Sellens continuing to provide Asian take-away food.

"We had to re-apply for our permits after we moved house, away from our registered kitchen," Chris said, "it has taken time to gain the permits and get ourselves organised to reopen."

Chris and Mylane are running the business together, preparing and cooking fresh food four days a week, with some assistance from their children during busy times.

"We have had a really good response so far," Mylane said, "we are very glad that people appreciate the service and are supporting us.

"I enjoy cooking, and enjoy providing a different range of food for people. We wanted to reopen because we were serving around 16 homes a day with the mobile service, and I didnt want to let our customers down."

Mylane said that an advantage of the business is customers being able to see their food being prepared.

"I make everything fresh on-site and cook as its needed," she said.

Chris and Mylane want to extend the business, with plans for a shaded outdoor eating area, landscaping, and eventually, a licensed restaurant.

"In the long-term we plan to convert the old depot beside the van into an Asian-themed licensed restaurant," Chris said, "but first we are going to plant some trees, paint and pave. It will take time, but we will get there," he said.

Mylane Food Services is open from Thursday until Sunday.
