Dimboola Memorial Secondary College year 12 student Niki Bell will officially be announced the 2014 Dux at tonights school Awards Night.

Niki was one of 10 Dux-eligible VCE students, with another eight VCAL students making up this years Year 12 class. All 18 students passed the academic year.

The Menzies Centenary Prize is awarded to the Dux of the school, who will be supported through their tertiary studies with a $10,000 scholarship.

Niki said that she was very happy with her results, and wants to study Nursing and Midwifery.

"I would like to study at La Trobe in Bundoora," she said, "it has a relaxed, country feel to it. But I havent finalised that yet."

Niki, who has studied at the College since Year 10, completed Year 12 subjects English, Further Maths, Biology, History, Health and Psychology to earn her the highest university ranking score.

All school achievement awards are being presented at the College tonight.
