The Dimboola Lions Club Christmas Carnival took place thisevening where the winners of a variety of raffles and competitions were announced.

The event kicked off at 5pm in the main street with musical entertainment, a jumping castle and barbecue.

Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor Ron Lowe welcomed everyone to the event.

"I also wish everyone a happy, prosperous and enjoyable new year," he said.

The Christmas Light Competition winners were announced, with a slightly different format this year. The best street was the top end of Wimmera Street, the best house was Treloars home in Church Street, with the remaining of the top six being Sellens home in Anna Street, 32 Faith Street, 23 Moulder Street, 37 Hindmarsh Street and 22 Upper Regions Street. Vouchers from local traders were presented as prizes.

The best-dressed boy and girl were voted to be Lenny Clark and Tahnee Glover (pictured), they each received a local traders voucher.
