The second week of the 2015 Wimmera Hockey Association Season was held in Yanac on Saturday.

The highlight of the round was again the Kaniva Women, clearly riding a high from Round One and driven to succeed this season. Kaniva battled relentlessly against the Horsham Jets, resulting in a two all draw. For a team who only saw their first win for years only last week, a draw against one of the strongest Women's teams in the association is a huge accomplishment. Let's hope they can continue with strength and determination, this coming weekend when they take on Dimboola Women at 2pm on Anzac Day.

For the first game of the day, the Yanac Warriors saw defeat over the Dimboola Kangaroos. Being down by one at half time, the Warriors increased their attacking intensity and secured three goals, scraping their last goal in 5 minutes before time was called. Seth Croot received three votes for him outstanding efforts and three spectacular goals.

The 2014 Junior premiers, Kaniva Raiders proved they were too strong to be defeated by the Dimboola Kookaburras, winning by five goals to one. With several strong forwards, the Raiders look forward to a strong season.

The 2014 Premiership replay, saw the Warrack Hoops and the Yanac Tigers play an intense evenly matched game. The atmosphere of the game resembled that of last year's grand final. The Hoops strongly controlled the first half of the game having more scoring opportunities but strong defence from Yanac denied their attempts. With five subs on their bench, the Tigers came back strong in the second half securing a one to nil win.

The Warrack Revengers played a dominant and controlled game against the Horsham Bombers defeating them by eleven goals to nil. With a mixture of experience and speed, the Warrack Revengers showed the Horsham Bombers how to play a skilful and tactful game of hockey.

Other games to complete the round included; Yanac Warriors 3 defeated Dimboola Kangaroos 2, Kaniva Cobars 3 defeated Horsham Hurricanes 0, Dimboola Men 2 defeated Nhill Rangers 0, Dimboola Women 7 defeated Nhill Thunderbirds 0 and Yanac Women 5 defeated Warrack Women 0.
