Dimboola Police intercepted a vehicle on the Western Highway at Dimboola on Friday afternoon, after it was detected travelling at an alleged speed of 130 km/h.

A 50-year-old male driver will have his licence suspended for one month as a result.

Dimboola Station Commander, Acting Senior Sergeant Darren Sadler, said "It is of great concern to police that motorists will elect to drive at such high speeds.

"There have been 95 lives lost on Victorian roads so far this year, so we can't stress the message enough, that road safety is every driver's responsibility."
