Julia Hastings was today the first Dimboola Brownie Guide to be presented the Junior BP Award.

The award was presented by region leader Marion Smith (pictured above) at a ceremony this morning at the Dimboola Guide Hall which was attended by friends, family, and community members. The ceremony included an outline of Julia's time in Brownies and her explaining her work to achieve the award.

The Junior Baden Powell Award is one of the peak awards for girls in the Guide movement and provides an extra challenge for guides within the six Fundamental areas of Guiding.

Julia, 9, earned the award over a period of twelve months by completing twelve tasks covering Guiding traditions, community service, sustainability and life skills.

While ten Guides have achieved this award at Dimboola since 2001, Julia is the first Brownie Guide at the group to achieve it.

Julia enrolled with the Dimboola Brownies in October 2014 and was a member for over three years, and is now a member of the Horsham Guides after her family moved earlier this year.

Congratulations Julia!
