Forest Fire Management Victoria and the Country Fire Authority advise that a planned burning will be carried out tomorrow, at the Lochiel Rest Stop north west of Dimboola.

Pending suitable weather and fuel conditions this burn has been scheduled to be ignited on the morning of Wednesday 6th December 2017 at 8 am and is planned to be completed by 8 pm.

The objective of this burn is to create an area of reduced fuel which is wide enough to reduce the speed and intensity of bushfires.

The area involved stretches from just north of the Lochiel Rest Stop along the east side of the Wimmera River to the railway line and will cover an area of around 10 hectares.

Smoke may be visible from nearby localities and communities.
