Summer set to hit with low-intensity heatwave for weekend
Summer is set to show us what it can do with high temperatures forecast for later this week, with the Bureau of Meteorology issuing a low-intensity heatwave warning for the three days starting Thursday.

The current forecast for Thursday is 33°C, Friday 38°C, Saturday 42°C, with Sunday down to 29°C.

The BOM has forecast a low-intensity heatwave across most of Victoria, New South Wales, Tasmania, and half of Queensland and South Australia for the three days beginning Thursday.

The Better Health Channel has issued the following five tips for staying safe in hot weather:
  • Drink more water
  • Never leave anyone in a car
  • Stay somewhere cool
  • Plan ahead
  • Check in on others

The Fire Danger Rating for Saturday, as released by the CFA, is ‘Extreme’ for the Wimmera and Mallee forecast districts.
