This year, Royal flying doctors service has been saving lives and assisting people in the outback and remote communities for 90 years so to recognise and celebrate their challenges and achievements the Flying Doctors Rowathon will be rowed over 90 kilometres on the two iconic Australian rivers.

The first two legs will be held on the Murray River and the second two legs will be held on the Darling river.

Dimboola rowing club will participate for the second time with eight junior rowers and three senior rowers to complete the 90 kilometre row in one boat in one day on Saturday 6th October.

Crews will hit the water around 7:30 am where they will head down stream on the Murray for 25 kilometres to the Coomealla Golf Course where morning tea will be served. The second length is another 25 kilometres to Wentworth District Rowing Club where lunch will be available followed by the third leg up the Darling River for 20 kilometres where afternoon tea will be served and the last leg is back to the WDRC.

Senior rowers John Nichols and Vicki Smithyman have already participated in this event once before with Jenni Brand and Junior rowers Maddy Toet, Tara Petschel, Alex Salter, Freya Colbert, Jo Wolthuis, Tonnis Wolthuis, Hamish Sellens and Ben Salter all participating for the first time.
