Rainbow Radar takes shape
The skyline south of Rainbow is changing, with the erection of the tower for the new Rainbow Radar last week.

After the components of the 22 metre high structure were delivered to the site on the Pullut West Road early last week, it had been erected by midweek and is now awaiting installation of the iconic ‘golf ball’ dome which is anticipated to occur in October.

The tower was delivered in three sections, weighing a total of 32 tonnes, and required two cranes to erect.

The project is currently on track for the radar to come online in April next year following the installation and testing.
