Last Sunday Dimboola Bowling Club chairman Darryl Argall officially open the 2019-2020 season on the local bowling greens.

Last year’s Ladies Championship runner up, Lorraine Ross, tossed the first kitty down for the season, as Champion Judith Albrecht was unable to attend, and the Men’s Champion, Geoff Gazelle, then bowled the first bowl for the season.

After the official opening a social game triples was played with the winners being Geoff Gazelle, Darryl Both and Ian Barry.

Next Monday will see the start of Mid-week Pennant, with Weekend Pennant beginning on the 5th of October. The feeling around the Club is that this will be another successful year of pennant on the back of the C grade winning the 2018-19 season grand final earlier this year, and the A grade having also made it to their season decider, although they were no match for the strong Coughlin Park combination.

Pennant practice will be on Thursdays from 4:00 pm onward.

Next Sunday will be the annual practice game against Coughlin Park when everyone playing pennant this season is encouraged to play, and those available are asked to place their names on the list the notice board as soon as possible.

There are lists for the open 100 Up competition and the club Open Fours Championship on the notice board, with all club members to participate in these club events.
