The Blackheath-Dimboola cricket team put in a better performance against the Homers bowling attack in their second innings but were unable to post a high enough score to force their opponents to bat again.

Having scored 65 the previous week to which Homes had replied with 267 for the loss of 8 wickets by the close of play on the first day, so the challenge for the Bulls was to bat all of the second day to force a draw.

Although the target to make Homers bat again was not reached, the Bulls put in a much better performance with the bat to compile 126 in their second innings.

Brent Tough made the top individual score for the innings, and his best for the season, with 39, and other significant contributions came from Chris Hauselberger with 30 and Robert Somers with 28.

The A grade competition returns to one day games next weekend when Blackheath-Dimboola take on Horsham Saints on Coughlan Park.
