Local organisations are encouraging residents to get into the festive spirit, with the Lions Club running their annual Christmas lights competition and the Dimboola Town Committee hosting ‘Carols on Lochiel’ next Saturday 21st December.

Members of the Dimboola Lions Club will be driving around town after dark on Wednesday 18th, Thursday 19th and Friday 20th to judge light displays.

Winners will be announced at the Lochiel Street Christmas function on Saturday 21st.

The Dimboola Town Committee is hosting this event – ‘Carols on Lochiel’ – from 10am to midday Saturday.

Lochiel Street, near the Start Theatre, will come alive with music by ‘Key Change’ with vocals by Sofia Laursen-Habel and ‘Voices of the Wimmera’.

The man in red will make an appearance at 11.30am. Other features will be a sausage sizzle, face painting and raffle draws.

Winners of the following competitions will be announced:
  • Lions Best House Christmas Lighting
  • Lions Best Shop Decorations
  • Best Decorated Pram
  • Best Decorated Bike
  • Best Decorated Gopher
Judging of the pram, bike and gopher will start at 11am.
