The last game of pennant for 2019 gave Dimboola mixed results, with a win for Division Two, but a narrow loss in Division One.

Dimboola’s First Division team is now in a precarious position as far as the finals are concerned after they endured a narrow loss to Coughlin Park which now makes the first game for 2020 on January 25 against Horsham Golf at Golf a very important game. As it stands Dimboola is 13 points in front of Golf and with remaining games against higher placed sides, this game is a must-win.

The game on the 21 December saw Dimboola go down by 5 shots to Coughlin Park, last year’s premiers, 64 to 69. The team of Alan Krahe, Darryl Both, Wayne Albrecht and Josh Cook won 23 to 19, and the team of Peter O’Loughlin, Judith Albrecht, Ron Gaulke, and Merv Roberts went down by 4 shots 22 to 26. The team of Geoff Gazelle, Rob Pyres, Greg Cook and Darryl Argall went down by 5 shots 19 to 24.

The local Second Division team ventured to Goroke and came away with a good win 11 shot win, 70 to 59. The team of Cliff Unger, John Moar, Max Walker, and Alex Orcsik had a big win by 12 shots winning 26 to 14 and the team of Bryan Beattie, Rob Clark, Ian Barry, and Max Pilmore had a win by 3 shots 21 to 18, it was great to see Max Pilmore back on the green after some health problems. The team of Rick Danisch, Bill Ballard, Shannon Williams, and Bob Gooding went down 23 to 27.

This team’s next engagement will be against Horsham City 2 at Dimboola on January 25.
