The Blackheath-Dimboola Bulls enjoyed a positive start to 2020 with their first win since round one when they were victorious in the second of two Twenty20 games they played on Saturday.
On the turf wicket at Dudley Cornell Park, the Bulls took on Colts in the afternoon and finished with a five-wicket victory.
After being asked to bowl first Blackheath-Dimboola restricted their opponents to 84 for the loss of 7 wickets in their twenty overs, courtesy of two wickets each by Harry Young, Ben Miller, and Brent Tough.
The run chase was led by Young who made 26, and with solid contributions from Miller (19 not out) and Wil Barber (17 not out), the target was passed in the second last over for the loss of 5 wickets, giving them a welcome and morale-boosting victory.

Earlier in the day, the Bulls finished just short of defending a total of 118 against Noradjuha-Toolondo Bullants on the Horsham City Oval.
Batting first, Young contributed the bulk of the Bulls’ runs with 43, with Barber (14), Tough(13) and Miller (13) all helping to set a challenging target.
Two wickets to Mitch Jorgensen and one each to Tough and Miller were the highlights of the defence that finished with just two overs remaining.
Another two Twenty20 games will be played next Saturday with Blackheath-Dimboola scheduled to play a twilight game against Homers at Sunnyside starting at 4.15 pm and an evening game at the City Oval from 7.15 pm against Jung Tigers.
As both opponents finished Saturday with the same record as the Bulls, by splitting their two games with one win and one loss each, the Bulls are definitely in with a good chance to build on their good start to 2020.
