A search warrant executed in Nhill this morning shed some light on a series of alleged garden ornament thefts from across the district.

More than 150 garden statues, gnomes and other assorted ornaments went missing from gardens in Kaniva, Nhill, Jeparit, Dimboola, Warracknabeal and Horsham during January.

A 44-year-old Nhill man has been arrested and will be bailed to appear at the Horsham Magistrates Court at a later date.

Investigators are yet to identify owners for some of the ornaments. If you believe that you are missing garden ornaments during that period and are yet to report it to police, Police encourage you to contact them either online at www.police.vic.gov.au, by telephoning the Police Assistance Line 131 444 or by contacting Senior Constable Tim Crick at the Horsham Crime Investigation Unit on 03 5382 9265.
