It was a mixed round for the Hindmarsh teams in the Horsham Cricket Association on the weekend.

The C grade Warriors scored another win, the B grade enjoying a couple of weeks off after Quantong forfeited their game, and the Blackheath-Dimboola A grade also forfeiting their game.

West Wimmera Warriors C Grade

On the Holy Trinity College oval on Saturday afternoon, the West Wimmera Warriors continued their recent success with a 29 run victory over Homers.

Batting first the Warriors made 5 for 125 with Trevor Polkinghorne making the innings high score of 36 and he received considerable support from five teammates who contributed scored in the teens, including Ash Dickinson with 19 and Steve Leach with 14.

They then only needed 31 overs to dismiss Homers for a total of 96, with three wickets to Jamie Harding in his first opportunity to bowl this season, and Ash Dickinson and Jack Crowhurst took two each.

With three rounds remaining, but only two games as they have the bye in the last round, the Warriors are currently on top of the ladder and have already qualified for the finals but will be looking for two solid wins to go into the finals in top form.

The previous Saturday the team travelled to the Dock Lake Reserve to take on Horsham Saints and recorded a comfortable victory. After dismissing Saints in the 38th over for 80 with Jack Crowhurst, Shane Gusman and Dan Cross taking two wickets each, the Warriors passed this total in the 32nd over for the loss of just five wickets.

The top scorers for the innings were Darcy Bullen with 25 and fellow opener Tim Braendler with 21.

Round 14 - Horsham Saints 80 (J Crowhurst 2/8, S Gusman 2/10, D Cross 2/12) lost to West Wimmera Warriors 5 for 82 (D Bullen 25, T Braendler 21)

West Wimmera Warriors B Grade

Quantong forfeited their B grade game so the Warriors will have this and next week off before they launch into the last home and away game against Jung Tigers on the Dimboola Road oval in Horsham starting on March 7.

The week before they completed a two day victory over Lubeck-Murtoa after both Nathan Alexander (107) and Mitchell Dahlenburg (104) scored centuries in the Warriors total of 8 for 289 the previous Saturday four wicket hauls by Josh Lees (4/11) and Nathan Alexander (4/30) and two to Liam Preston (2/12) helped restrict the Mudlarks to just 83 in reply.

Round 16 - West Wimmera Warriors 8 for 289 (N Alexander 107, M Dahlenburg 104, J Cramer 23) defeated Lubeck-Murtoa 83 (J Lees 4/11, N Alexander 4/30, L Preston 2/12)

Blackheath-Dimboola Bulls A Grade

The Bull unfortunately were forced to forfeit their latest game against Noradjuha Toolondo Bullants so will also have next week off as it was scheduled as a two day fixture.

The players will now focus on a big finish to the season when they host Colts in a two day game beginning on March 7.
