Jeparit’s Wimmera Mallee Pioneer Museum said in a statement today that their 2020 annual Vintage Rally will not go ahead, with visitors encouraged to put the Queen’s Birthday Long Weekend 2021 in their diaries for a trip to Jeparit.
The 2020 WMPM Vintage Machinery Rally usually held over the Queen’s Birthday long weekend in June has been postponed for twelve months due to the restrictions imposed as a result of the Covid19 Virus.

We understand this is disappointing for everyone, however under the circumstances the Committee felt there was little choice. The organisation and costs that go into a rally greatly increase in the months leading up to the event and with current restrictions in place, the financial risk of cancelling it at shorter notice increases exponentially for everyone.

We would like to greatly thank our exhibitors, both regular and new, for your support of the WMPM Rally over previous years and we look forward to your continuing support at our next Vintage Rally planned for June 2021.

We still may be able to hold our planned 50th Anniversary Bash later this year, but again, this will need to take into account any continuing restrictions on travelling and gatherings of crowds that may still be in place, and an assessment of the financial risks that may still be relevant for us all. The Committee will make a timely decision about this event after Covid19 restrictions are finally lifted. You will all be updated when this happens.

Meanwhile, the Museum Committee would like to book your attendance for June 2021 at our next bigger and better Rally.

We wish you all continuing good health, stay safe and we look forward to our combined financial recoveries following the lifting of these unprecedented conditions in 2020.

We all continue to look forward to the time when travel and gatherings are no longer banned – hopefully sooner rather than later.

With our very best wishes for the future,

The Committee Members of
