Playgrounds, outdoor gym equipment and skate parks throughout Hindmarsh Shire have re-opened following the state government announcing Step 2 in the easing of COVID-19 restrictions.

Playgrounds and skate parks throughout the Shire will receive additional cleaning and disinfecting to ensure they are safe and ready for members of the public to use.

Hindmarsh Shire Mayor Rob Gersch said that it is still important to follow advice given by the state government.

“Whilst it is exciting that the restrictions are easing, we want to remind everyone to adhere to the directives provided by the Victorian State Government.”

Currently people should not gather in groups of more than 20, and stay 1.5 metres apart from others.

BBQs and drinking fountains will remain closed until further notice.
