Local tennis players will set aside their racquets for the next two months for the harvest break after round nine of the Dimboola and District Tennis Association 2020/21 season was played over the weekend.

Hopetoun currently sits on top of the ladder with 34 points, just half a point ahead of Antwerp.

Warrack Gold is three points further back with 30.5, and Jeprait makes up the top four with 26 points.

Brim is the next best team, five points adrift of fourth place, and along with Arkona are still well in contention to claim a place in the finals over the final rounds of the regular season when the competition resumes in late January.

The remaining two teams, Rainbow and Dimboola, and not totally out of the running for the top four, but will need to find some good form quickly when the competition resumes.

Round nine opened with the Antwerp Tennis Club hosting Dimboola on Friday night under lights on the Dimboola Health and Fitness Centre courts.

Antwerp was the stronger team on the night with the mixed winning 4 sets, 41 games to Dimboola 1 set, 15 games.
