A cold front with showers that passed through Western Victoria on Saturday prevented any play in five of the six senior semi-finals in the Horsham Cricket Association.

From these games, the teams that finished the home and away season higher on the ladder have progressed to the grand finals that will commence next Saturday.

In the A grade, the West Wimmera Warriors were scheduled to play Homers at Dimboola and would have gone into the game as favourites after defeating the same opponent last week and finishing higher on the ladder.

The other A grade semi-final was to feature minor premiers Noradjuha Toolondo Bullants and Jung Tigers.

With neither of these games going ahead, the Warriors will now take on the Bullants on the Horsham City Oval next Saturday in the first match of a best-of-three grand final series.

Unfortunately for the Blackheath-Dimboola Bulls, their third-place ladder position was not enough to earn another game after play was abandoned in their semi-final against Colts.

The grand final series in this grade will feature Homers and Colts on the Dudley Cornell Park turf pitch.

The C grade Warriors went into the finals with the advantage of having finished on the top of their ladder, which allowed them to move directly into the grand final when their game against Laharum was also abandoned.

The other game in this grade took place on the Minyip oval and was the only one to be played, with Quantong scoring 8 for 167 from their 40 overs and then restricting Colts to 8 for 158.

The first of the C grade grand finals will be played on the Horsham College Dimboola Road Oval next Saturday afternoon, followed by the second game on Sunday afternoon. If necessary, a third game will take place the following Saturday, on the same ground.

The West Wimmera Warriors two senior teams have now joined their Under 16.5 team as 2020/21 grand finalists after they played off in the grand final of their competition last Monday.
