The wait is finally over for the resumption of community sport, with cricket, tennis, and pennant bowls all getting underway this weekend.
Cricket
The Blackheath-Dimboola B grade team is scheduled to start their season on Saturday when they host Rupanyup-Minyip on the local ground. The C grade team returns for the first time since the 2019/20 season when they travel to Coughlin Park in Horsham to take on Horahm Saints Black.
The West Wimmera Warriors A grade will host Rupanyup-Minyip on Davis Park. However, following the withdrawal of the Norajurah Bullants from the C grade competition, the C grade Warriors will have to wait another week to make their return to the field against Colts in Horsham next weekend.

Tennis
The Dimboola and District Tennis Association’s 2021/22 season will start round 5 from the published fixture that was originally scheduled for this weekend.
They intend to continue with the fixture as adopted at their Annual General Meeting, with the first four rounds that have been missed due to restrictions not to be played and the points will be split.
There will need to be some alterations to the published fixture as the courts at the Dimboola Health and Fitness Centre will not be available until later this month, and the Brim courts are currently unavailable due to reconstruction and upgrading works. It will be up to the team captains to make alternative arrangements to cover this.

Pennant Bowls
Weekend Pennant
After some social matches at the club’s season launch last weekend, the Pennant competition commences tomorrow, with three Dimboola teams taking up the challenge.
The local division 1 team will play at home, while the division 2 and 3 teams will commence their season with away matches.
