The cold weather is really setting in, with frost warnings issued for Friday morning.

The Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology has issued a frost warning for the Mallee, Wimmera, Northern Country, North Central, North East, Central, West, and South Gippsland and East Gippsland forecast districts. Further east, a severe frost warning is in effect for the North East forecast district.

Locally, temperatures as low as -2°C are likely; however, temperatures at ground level can be several degrees lower than those recorded by a standard weather station, particularly when skies are very clear and conditions are calm.
