If you appreciate what Tower Park has contributed to the Dimboola community since its official opening in March 2023, the Dimboola Lions would like your feedback on its future.

Many Dimboola locals will be aware that the current owner of the Tower Park site, Graeme Schneider is seeking to sell the site and place it back into community hands. The Dimboola Lions has been approached to purchase the site.

Such a purchase is a big decision for the Dimboola Lions and we are keen to get feedback from the community about what they want to see happen to the site. Community consultation will be undertaken over the next few weeks to gauge the level of support for the Lions’ purchase of the site.

The Tower Park site has a long history – having been the site of the Dimboola Hotel prior to the fire more than 20 years ago. Since that time there has been many ups and downs for the site until funding was provided to the Dimboola Arts Inc to develop the community park site. Since that time it has become a hub for a regular market, bringing colour and activity to the main street. It has also played a key role in the Steampunk Festival activities in recent years along with other events. It is now a regular place for visitors and locals to stroll through.

The Lions recognise the value of the park and what it adds to the local landscape of the main street. We have some ideas on how we can activate the park even more but we want to hear from locals as well.

The Lions know that community support for this is critical and there will be opportunities for the community to contribute to the purchase of the site to ensure it continues to be part of the fabric of community activity in Dimboola.
