An 18-year-old Dimboola woman avoided possible abduction last week after a man tried to lure her into his utility vehicle, similar to the one pictured above.

The man, possibly aged in his 60s, pulled over to where the woman was walking in Acacia Street and asked her to get into his vehicle. It was a white single-cab ute with a flat tray, no number plates, and a red paint mark on the drivers door.

The woman refused, saying she was on her way to the police station. The man then drove away.

"I felt kind of scared, and creeped out," the woman said.

"My advice is that if youre walking somewhere, dont actually tell them where youre going. Hide in the nearest driveway, or walk faster to where you are actually going."

The man approached the woman near the intersection of Normanby Street.

The woman has given police a very detailed description of the man and the ute; police have asked that if anyone has any further information, or saw the ute, to please contact them.
