The former Bosisto's Eucalyptus property in Antwerp was the site for Hindmarsh Landcare Networks annual tree planting event, Project Hindmarsh.

160 people from across Victoria joined locals to plant 9,000 locally indigenous trees on the property now owned by Tim and Ben Inkster. Local volunteers included participants from the Green Army and staff from Wimmera Health Care Group. Preparations for this event started around 12 months ago and culminated in the 18th Project Hindmarsh held on Saturday, August 15.

Hindmarsh Landcare Facilitator Steve Hemphill said, "It was a wonderful event, with volunteers well looked after on the weekend with food and drinks supplied."

Chair of Hindmarsh Landcare Network Cliff Unger welcomed all the attendees for the weekend event and thanked them for giving up a weekend to help the environment.

"Project Hindmarsh's moto is City and Country, working together for the environment," said Cliff, "Project Hindmarsh has a long history of creating biolinks between the Big and Little Desserts, Lake Hindmarsh, Wimmera River and the South Australian border."

Groups in the local area that benefited through catering and support opportunities included Dimboola Lions Club, Dimboola Scout Group, Antwerp Hall committee, Antwerp Tennis Club, Dimboola Lutheran School and Dimboola A&P.

This event was supported through generous donations and support from the Handbury Family trust, Luv A Duck, Lowan Foods, Bosisto, Victorian Landcare, Hindmarsh Shire Council and Wimmera CMA.
