Round eight of the Dimboola District Tennis Association was scheduled to kick off on Friday night, but with harvest and other functions taking over the weekends, teams struggled to find enough players to compete, so the Friday night game and one on Saturday were forfeits. The Dimboola Lions Club announced the recipients of its inaugural community grants at the recent Tower Park market. Round seven of the Dimboola District Tennis Association season was highlighted by a big game between Rainbow and Hopetoun, and Brim playing bottom side Jeparit, looking to sneak back into the four. Parts of the Dimboola Recreation Reserve will be without electricity for an extended period on Monday. A Total Fire Ban has been declared for the Wimmera tomorrow, Sunday, 16 November 2024, after significant fires kicked off today in the west of the state. The newest addition to the ever-popular Silo Art Trail is a step closer, with work about to begin work on the Llew Schilling Silo Tourism Development in Rainbow. Hindmarsh Shire Council’s Annual Statutory Meeting was held on Wednesday at the Council Chambers in Nhill, where the new-look Council gathered for the first time. The Horsham and Dimboola Rowing Clubs had great results at the 134th Dimboola Regatta on Saturday. The Soundshell at the Recreation Reserve is on track to be reopened later this month after some significant upgrades. Round six of Dimboola District Tennis Association saw some interesting match-ups, with the top four sides Brim and Antwerp going head to head, Rainbow on the edge of the four hosting top side Warrack, and the bottom two sides, Jeparit and Arkona, both looking for their first win of the season, up against each other in Jeparit. The 15-year-old was last seen in the Warracknabeal area on Sunday 10 November.
