Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor Debra Nelson today announced the resignation of Hindmarsh Shire Council CEO Tony Doyle. Mr Doyle will join Knox City Council as CEO in June 2016.

Mayor Nelson said Mr Doyle had led the organisation through a remarkable period of change. "It is clear to see the enormous contribution he has made to the organisation and the fantastic outcomes he and his staff have achieved for our shire.

"Mr Doyle should be proud of his considerable achievements over the last three and half years and of leading a team of people who are passionate and dedicated to creating the best outcomes for our shire."

"Council members will meet over the next few weeks to develop a succession plan," Mayor Nelson said. "On behalf of all Councillors, I would like to thank Mr Doyle for his professionalism, his hard work, his dedication to our community and for being a true visionary and inspirational leader. We wish him all the very best for the future."

Mr Doyle said that he was grateful for the support of the Mayor and Councillors.
"I have been privileged to be able to lead a great organisation and to serve Council and the people of Hindmarsh. Our team, Councillors and staff, have delivered some exciting and significant projects and I will always be proud of being part of this journey."

"I have thoroughly enjoyed working in the role and with many great people, be they community members, Councillors or staff. I have made many friends and am incredibly grateful for the loyalty, support and wise counsel of my colleagues.

"I believe that as a team we have achieved some fantastic outcomes for the shire and its residents. It is certainly with mixed feelings that I leave Council and this tight knit community. "

Tony's last day at Hindmarsh Shire Council will be Wednesday 22 June 2016.
