Local Cub Scout Daniel Hastings was on Saturday night awarded with his Grey Wolf Award, the highest award achievable by Cub Scouts.

The presentation was made by Pam Budde and Andrew King at the Dimboola Scout Hall in front of family, friends, fellow Scouting members and special guests.

Daniel has been a Cub at 1st Dimboola for four years, during which time he has attended the Victorian Cuboree at Gilwell Park in Gippsland, with around 3000 other Cubs from across the state.

The Grey Wolf Award requires a youth member to complete a number of badges, including in areas such as outdoor skills and cooking, with the option to select other topics including sport and animals.

Daniel gave a presentation outlining his journey to the Grey Wolf Award, including photos of him attending outdoor events during his time as a Cub.

Hindmarsh Shire Mayor Deb Nelson also congratulated Daniel on his achievement.

Daniel is the sixth Dimboola Cub to achieve the award since 2006.
