The first stage of the redevelopment of the trees lining the Avenue of Honour at the Dimboola Memorial Secondary College has been completed, with all of the felled trees being replaced by a new flowering gum species.

Work on this project began five weeks ago with the removal of the old trees in preparation for their replacement.

Local RSL representative, Charles Rees, has overseen the project and has worked tirelessly to ensure that healthy native eucalypts have been planted to replace the older trees.

Stage Two of the project will see the trees on the south side of the circular driveway also removed and replaced with similar flowering eucalypts.

The new trees are of the same species as those planted about five years ago near the Matron Paeschke Memorial. (pictured below)
