Sam Polack is the dux of Dimboola Memorial Secondary College's class of 2017 with the highest ATAR in the region.

Sam finished achieved an ATAR of 99.25, with the highest possible ATAR being 99.95.

He studied English, Physical Education, Biology, Health and Human Development, and Mathematical Methods this year. He completed year 12 Further Mathematics last year in year 11.

His excellent ATAR was helped significantly by achieving subject scores over 40 in four classes: 44 in Health and Human Development, 48 in Biology, and a "perfect" 50 in both Physical Education and Further Mathematics.

A score over 40 places a student in the top 9% of students in that subject in Victoria.

Sam is not alone: Rianna Kuhne achieved a score of 41 in Food Studies, and Lachlan Schultz completed Product Design and Technology also with a score of 41. Peter Wren's final score for Physical Education was 40.

The achievements of students in all years at Dimboola Memorial Secondary College were acknowledged at the college's annual awards night on Tuesday night.

Congratulations on excellent results and to all year 12 students for making it through a challenging year.
