Dimboola will be represented at the Wimmera Netball Association grand finals by the 17 and Under netball team that will take on their Horsham counterparts at Anzac Park in Warracknabeal on Saturday.

After finishing on top of the ladder at the end of the regular season, a 58 to 39 gaol win over the Horsham Saints in the semi final saw them qualify directly for the grand final, whilst Horsham has qualified through three tough games in the last three weeks.

Horsham won their first encounter for the season, by 7 goals in round two, but Dimboola turned the tables when they met again in round 11 with a 12 goal victory.

This early season loss was the only blemish for the local team this season, but Horsham have also had a good year, with only the one loss to Dimboola and a tie with Stawell.

The Horsham club has qualified a team in each of the eight netball grand finals, with Horsham Saints to play in four and Ararat and Stawell qualifying one team each.

On the football field the Southern Mallee Giants will play in the Wimmera League grand final in their first season in the competition, after winning the last two titles in the Horsham District competition.

They will take on perennial grand finalists Horsham.

The Horsham Saints and Minyip-Murtoa will clash in the Reserves game, Ararat take on Stawell in the Under 17s and Ararat and Horsham will meet each other in the Under 14s.
