It’s that time of year again – as the number of daylight hours start to lower, we shift our clocks back by an hour.

Daylight Savings ends this Sunday morning at 3am, when clocks shift back to 2am.

This is good news for those of us who enjoy a sleep in – we’ll get an extra hour of sleep tomorrow morning.

These days most of our clocks (phone, iPads, computers) will update themselves, but watches, wall clocks and microwaves will still need to be done before heading to bed tonight.

The usual message is to change your smoke alarm batteries at the same time as changing your clock to ensure that they’re ready to go if ever needed.

This is still sound advice, although many new smoke alarms are designed to last for ten years with an in-built, non-replaceable battery. It’s still a good idea to check that it works, though.
