The first day of Blackheath-Dimboola’s first home game did not go according to plan after they were asked to bat first when the Jung Tigers’ captain won the toss.

A solid start was made by openers Chris Hauselberger (46) and Harry Young (14) with an opening stand of 38 runs in the first 20 overs before the first wicket fell, but the only other batsman to reach double figures was Sam Polack (16), and when the last wicket fell in the 51st over, the team score was 114.

Above - Hauselberger finished as the top scorer in the Bulls’ innings, with 46 of the team’s 114 runs.

With time still left in the day, the Tigers began their innings and had erased 65 from their target for a first innings win for the loss of one wicket when stumps were drawn. Brodie Cramer was the only Bulls’ bowler to enjoy success with one wicket.

Next week the game will resume on the Park, with Blackheath-Dimboola needing some early wickets to put pressure back on the Tigers.
