A man was arrested in Adelaide yesterday morning after allegedly hitching a ride on a freight train from Dimboola.

South Australia Police said in a statement that the 41-year-old man was found at around 6.15am on Wednesday by a rail supervisor, who alerted police.

Police attended and arrested the man who had submitted a Cross Border Travel Registration form, but had not awaited the outcome of his application. He was charged with breaching COVID-19 restrictions.

He was refused bail and was set to face court in Adelaide late yesterday. At the time of writing, the Dimboola Courier is unaware of the outcome of this court appearance.

It is not known where the man usually resides.
