Two volunteers from the SES Dimboola Unit travelled to the South Australian border on Thursday night to assist with a border checkpoint.

Dimboola Unit Controller Des Smith and Dimboola Unit Deputy Controller Lauren Hawkins assisted Victoria Police members in setting up a site as part of the hard border closure between Victoria and South Australia.

Several other SES units from across western Victoria were also out on Thursday night assisting with the operation.

The Victorian Government implemented a closure of the border with South Australia on Thursday night for two days, before a permit system comes into place on Saturday night.
