A section of the Western Highway on the Stawell side of Horsham will be resurfaced during February, with overnight lane closures while works take place.

Work on resurfacing all northbound and southbound lanes of the Western Highway between the Wimmera River Bridge and Derry Parade (near the Golf Course Road intersection) will take place between 6pm and 7am from Monday 8th February to Monday 1st March.

Regional Roads Victoria (RRV) said that works will take place overnight to minimise disruption to road users and to ensure the safety of roadworkers and the general public.

More than 18,000 vehicles use this section of the Western Highway every day, according to RRV.

All lanes on one side of the Western Highway will be closed during the nightworks and both north and southbound vehicles will be directed through the works area by traffic controllers.

Both sides of the highway and all lanes will reopen from 7am each day.

If travelling at night, road users are encouraged plan ahead, allow extra travel time, and consider alternative routes if practicable.
