The natural water flow that has been making its way down the Wimmera River since heavy rainfall in the upper catchments over a week ago has made its way to Jeparit.

The surge of water has been well below minor flood levels at all of the recording stations along the waterway but has delivered a welcome, albeit small, rise in water levels.

The picture above was taken yesterday morning (11 February) showing one sluice gate on the Jeparit weir open allowing a small amount of water through to refresh the area between the weir and the river mouth.

View our photo galleries as the water flow has moved north through Dimboola, Lochiel, to Antwerp and Jeparit.
