The Rainbow Rises 240 held over the weekend attracted 46 entries to kick off the 2021 Victorian Off-Road racing season.

The fine and warm weather brought a fickle wind that made conditions challenging for both the competitors and spectators. As the weekend went on, the dust clouds stirred up by the cars got bigger, and it often hung in the air for a couple of minutes before dissipating, dramatically reducing viability for the drivers, navigators, and officials around the track.

Despite this, some exciting racing was witnessed, with drivers regularly clocked at over one hundred kilometres per hour on the straights, with the fastest recording of 143 kph by Mark Burrows in car number 1.

This weekend included the first rounds of the Motorsport Australia Victorian Off Road Championship, the Victorian Off Road Club Shield, and the VORRA Club Champ[ionshps.

Next Saturday, racing will continue at the Rainbow GrainCorp site with a new event for this venue, the first round of the Kincrome SXS Motorsport Australia Championship calendar.
