Horsham Highway Patrol officers responded to reports of an erratically driven vehicle near Dimboola on Tuesday evening.

It’s believed a member of the public alerted police to the vehicle travelling east on the Western Highway near Dimboola at about 9.15pm.

The concerned citizen was able to commandeer the driver to stop and waited with the driver for police to arrive.

The driver, a 43-year-old woman from Torquay, returned a positive evidentiary breath test of 0.166, more than three times the limit.

Her license was immediately suspended, and she is expected to be charged on summons with drink driving and driving an unregistered vehicle.
