The refurbished Old Shire Hall will be officially opened by Anne Webster MP, Member for Mallee, on Thursday morning.

The ‘Dimboola Community Civic Hub’ - located in the old library space - will be a multi-use facility that can be used by businesses and community organisations for meetings, exhibitions, training and educational purposes as well as library events and functions.

The official opening will take place at 9am on Thursday 1st July either in the forecourt on Lloyd Street, or inside the building, depending on weather conditions.

Hindmarsh Shire Council received funding of $600,000 through the Federal Government’s 2019 Community Development Grants Program to undertake refurbishment works following the construction of the new Dimboola Library and Customer Service Centre at the rear of the site.

Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor Cr Ron Ismay is encouraging members of the Dimboola community to come along to the opening.

“If any Dimboola residents have not yet visited the new library and customer service centre, I encourage them to attend the opening of the Dimboola Community Civic Hub as they will be able to see how the Old Shire Hall building and the new library have been linked to create a fantastic community space.

“The refurbishments to the circa 1860’s built Old Shire Hall has come up really well, and as it is linked to the new library and customer service centre, the entire facility will have a positive effect for the Dimboola community.”
