Revamped business grants scheme open for applications
|The first round of Hindmarsh Shire Council’s 2021/2022 Business Assistance Grants program is now open for applications.
Although the program has been running since 2016, changes to the criteria and format have been made this year to allow greater flexibility recognising that no two businesses are the same.
Hindmarsh Shire Council Mayor Ron Ismay said that the program aims to be flexible in order to support the individual needs of business owners.
“The Business Assistance Grants Program has been revised for this 2021/2022 Financial Year with Council recognising that business owners have individual needs, particularly in the present climate with COVID-19 lockdowns and restrictions.”
Business owners who have looked into the program before are being encouraged to look again.
“Because of the new criteria, Council strongly encourages business owners to review the guidelines and criteria to determine their eligibility and to contact Council staff who will be happy to assist with any queries they may have prior to submitting an application,” Cr Ismay said.
Past rounds of the program have gone to staff training, the development of websites, signage, marketing and improvements to shop fronts.
Hindmarsh Shire Council has allocated $20,000 towards the 2021/22 Business Assistance Grants program in the 2021/2022 Annual Budget, as well as an additional one off COVID-19 recovery allocation of $20,000.
