The Australian Government Bureau of Meteorology has issued a frost warning for several forecast districts, including the Wimmera and Mallee, with temperatures tipped to drop to zero and below.

After a run of mid, albeit windy, weather conditions over the last week, temperatures around the Wimmera are forecast to drop to minus 2 degrees in Horsham and Longerenong, minus one at Hopetoun, and zero at Nhill.

Temperatures at ground level can be many degrees lower than those recorded by standard weather stations, especially in calm conditions with very clear skies.

This warning also covers the Northern Country, North Central, North East, South West and Central forecast districts.
