The three fires started by lightning strikes in the Little Desert yesterday are now all listed as under control or contained.

Fire crews are patrolling the fires, but there is currently no threat to communities, although residents are encouraged to stay informed and monitor conditions, particularly with temperatures forecast for the high thirties today and potentially more thunderstorms and strong winds tomorrow.

The largest fire has burnt 256 hectares in the Little Desert National Park between the Southern Break Track and Dahlenburgs Mill Track, 14 kilometres south-west of Dimboola, and is listed as contained.

The fire 18 kilometres north-west of Goroke has burnt around 42 hectares, and the one south of Lillimur, east of the Kaniva-Edenhop Road near Elliotts Road are both listed as under control
