Despite some cool weather, Dimboola’s Christmas in July event exceeded expectations last Friday evening.

Promoted as the public’s first opportunity to experience the town’s new Tower Park on the site of the old Dimboola Hotel, a large crowd attended to take in this new space.

Long lines formed for the Town Committee’s sausage sizzle and the CWA’s Devonshire tea at the RSL clubrooms, while similar crowds filled the Imaginarium to sample the mulled wine inside and the Chèvre Arancini Balls served in the backyard which was illuminated with a light show projected on the side wall.

Several shops along Lloyd Street were open for late-night shopping, and stall holders took part in the market held under the pergola.

Tower Park was the focal point of the evening, with Christmas carols providing a soundtrack for those enjoying the warmth at the fire pit while the snow was a hit with the younger children.

Due to the overwhelming response to the first round of the Tower Park Funding Project that gave the opportunity for residents to have their name engraved on a paver used in the internal pathway in Tower Park, a second round has been made available for a donation of $60 each.
