The Dimboola Progress Association held their first function at the start of December with a community Christmas gathering.

A large crowd took advantage of the great weather to assemble on the grass area in front of the stage at the rear of the library to enjoy live music, singing by school groups, a visit by Santa, and a barbeque.

Several class groups from the Dimboola Primary School, St Peter’s Lutheran School, and the kindergarten performed Christmas songs to entertain the crowd, along with live music from the band Probably Guilty.

As part of the evening, Hindmarsh Shire Mayor, Brett Ireland, launched the Dimboola Precinct Lighting Project, adding a splash of light to the town this Christmas.

This project was jointly facilitated through funding provided by Nutrian Ag Solutions through their Community Grants Program and the Dimboola Progress Association, with assistance from the Hindmarsh Shire.

Bud lights have been installed in the trees around the central part of Dimboola not only to brighten up the area for Christmas, but the colours can be changed to show support for other causes, such as blue for Beyond Blue or pink for the McGrath Foundation throughout the year.

The Dimboola Progress Association is a committed group of eager volunteers, keen to help continue to make Dimboola a fantastic place to live and a great experience for all our visitors to the town.
